DeCordova Bend Estates was originally a gated residential Community located in Hood County on Lake Granbury six miles east-southeast of the city of Granbury. In 2000 DeCordova was incorporated as a city in Texas and is estimated to have a population of 3,365 according to the 2009 U.S. Census.
The development of DeCordova Ben Estates began in the 1960’s along with the building of the DeCordova Dam. The dam was constructed on the Brazos River to control the flow downstream. In the process a 33 mile long lake was formed with over 100 miles of shore line. The community of DeCordova has an 18 and a 9 hole golf course, Marina, Tennis Courts, swimming pool, and beautiful clubhouse with excellent service. It has a manned gate and security officers.
