The De Cordova Damn and Lake Granbury were constructed on the Brazos River by the Brazos River Authority. The permit for construction was given in 1964 with construction beginning in 1966 and being completed in 1969. The lake was named by “D” Magazine one of the 10 Best Lakes in Texas.
